# Delete an attempt

:::(Warning) (NOTE)
Use this function with care as this will delete previously answered questions and require the student to start from the beginning!

1. Click on the **Gradebook** tab.
2. Click **Gradable Items**.
3. Click on the relevant assessment's name.
4. Find the student/group for which you want to delete the attempt and click on name of the student or group to open the attempt.
5. Click on the **Ellipse** (to the top right of the screen).
6. Click on **Delete**.
7. Read the confirmation message.
8. Select **Delete** if you wish to continue.
