# Overview of examinations in clickUP

## Exam Preparation

- Refer to the [Roles and responsibilities for clickUP assessments **in a computer laboratory**](https://clickup.up.ac.za/bbcswebdav/xid-170067985_1) to ensure a well-coordinated examination.
- Refer to the [Roles and responsibilities for **off-campus** clickUP assessments](https://clickup.up.ac.za/bbcswebdav/xid-170067992_1)in a computer laboratory to ensure a well-coordinated examination.
- Refer to [Alternative Assessment the UP Way](https://docs.google.com/document/d/1b_rzwqxUYuujCRehvaqeR-cUIdGM5B6PoAOoUebeaXc/edit) for ideas on suitable solutions, and your faculty’s guidelines on how examinations should be conducted.

#### Display of the examination in clickUP

- **Group all the information** and tools that you will use for an examination into one Exam Learning Module or Exam Content Folder.
  1. Create an "**Exam pack**" with information in an Ultra Document for students available before the exam starts. Examples of what to include are available for [on-campus](/v1/docs/exam-pack-on-campus-examination) and [off-campus](/v1/docs/exam-pack-off-campus) examinations.
  2. Group your examination links within a folder and put release conditions on this folder to open only on the date and time the examination starts.
  3. When you create your tool links ([Test](/v1/docs/exam-settings-for-tests), [Assignment](/v1/docs/exam-settings-for-assignments), [Turnitin](/v1/docs/exam-settings-for-turnitin)), add the **due date** to the tool you will use.
  4. If you require specific release conditions for a tool (e.g. per group, or specific time to release) use the release conditions on the tool itself as well.
- Try to keep the release conditions as simple as possible.
- Document your release conditions for quick troubleshooting if necessary.
