# Print assessments

Instructors can print the following on a printer, or to PDF:

* Forms, 
* Tests, and 
* Assignments with questions. 

:::(Info) (Printing enables instructors to address different scenarios: )
* Accommodating students with specific needs or limited technology access.
* Distribution of examination questions to moderators for review before an assessment is taken.
* Backup and record keeping.
* Conducting offline assessment.
* Documentation and compliance.

## Print Tests, Assignments and Forms:
You can print a test which will prepare the answer key (first few pages) and then after that you will see the test. 

:::(Error) (Printing a Test for paper assessment)
Should you need to print a test for a student who needs to complete the test on paper, only print the pages of the test and not the answer key as well.

Follow these steps:
1. Access the assessment (Test/Assignment/Form) you want to print.
2. Click on **Content and Settings**.
3. Click on **Print**.
4. Select the desired print options. To print to PDF, select **Save as PDF** in the **Destination** dropdown.

:::(Warning) (Note)

* The Print option does not recognise page breaks in a test.
* To print tests that make use of question **Pools**: 
    *     **For moderation purposes:** If your examination questions are distributed in  **Pools**:
        * Set a new test
        * Add all the questions from all the **Pools** you will use in the examination.
        * Print this new assessment as described above. 
        * Do not make this test available to students. 
        * Delete this assessment after printing to remove the item from the Gradebook.
    *     **To distribute on paper to a student:**
        * Follow steps 1 - 4 above. 
        * When the instructor print tests that include questions from Question Pools, the system generates a different version of the answer key and test  each time a test is printed when the test:
            * Randomizes questions or answer options
            * Includes Question Pools
            * Instructors can use the print option to save the answer key and test as a PDF.

## Turnitin 
It is not possible to download Turnitin assignment settings. It is best to send MS Word documents or take screen captures as explained below:
1. Access the relevant clickUP module.
2. Click on the name of the Turnitin assignment you want to print.
3. Click on the **Settings** icon (Gear icon at the top right of the screen).
4. Open all the fields by clicking on **Optional Settings**.
5. Make screen captures of your screen and paste it into MSWord. (See Snipping tool instructions below).
   
### Turnitin rubric
If you do not have an MSWord or Excel copy of the rubric, you have to make screen captures of it in Turnitin as you cannot download it in a readable format.
1. Access the relevant clickUP module.
2. Click on the name of the Turnitin assignment you want to print.
3. Click on the **Settings** icon (Gear at top right of the screen).
4. Open all the fields by clicking on **Optional Settings**.
5. Click on **Launch Rubric/Form Manager**.
6. Click on the **Menu** icon (Top left).
7. Click on the name of the rubric you used for the examination.
8. Make a screen capture of your screen and paste it into MSWord. (See Snipping tool instructions below).

### Snipping tool
1. Use the SNIPPING tool for good-quality images.
2.	At the bottom of your screen, in the search bar, type in Snipping.
3. Click on the **Snipping Tool** app that will display in the list.
4.  Click on the **New** icon.
5. Left-click at the top left where you want to start the screen capture, keep your mouse button in and drag to the right and down until the area is selected that you want to capture. Release the mouse button.
6. Click on the **Save** icon and save the image to the destination folder.
7. Paste the picture you just created into an MSWord file.
8. Save the MSWord file.
