Definition: Exemptions

Exemptions are set when a student is excused from an assessment and the marks should not be included in gradebook calculations.

  • For example if a student was hospitalised and unable to complete the assessment(s) they missed.

Create Exemption: Assessment Submissions Tab

  1. Click on the name of the assessment.
  2. Click on the Submissions tab at the top.
  3. Find the student to which you want to add an exception. and click on the Ellipse (to the right of the screen).
  4. Choose Add or edit exemptions.
  5. Select Exempt grade on the Exempt from grading panel.
  6. Save.

Create Exemption: Gradebook Grades view

  1. Click on Gradebook tab at the top.
  2. Click Grades.
  3. Select the student’s assessment cell to display the options menu.
  4. Choose Add or edit exemptions.
  5. Select Exempt grade on the Exempt from grading panel.
  6. Save.

Create Exemption: Gradebook Gradable Items view

  1. Click on Gradebook tab at the top.
  2. Click Gradable items.
  3. Click on the assessment name to which you need to add the exemption.
  4. Select the student’s assessment cell to display the options menu.
  5. Select Exempt grade on the Exempt from grading panel.
  6. Save.
