Once your clickUP module is set up and your sessions are scheduled, it’s time to deliver your live lecture. Class for Teams provides a variety of interactive tools to help you share content, engage your students, and manage classroom communication seamlessly.
Getting Started: Launching Your Class
Before your students arrive, make sure to complete these two essential steps:
- Switch on your microphone and camera: Locate the audio and video toggles at the bottom of the interface to ensure your students can hear and see you.
- Launch your lecture material: Open your pre-prepared materials or choose a content delivery method to immediately provide a visual anchor for students as they enter the room.
Choosing Your Content Delivery Method
In Class for Teams, you have three distinct options for presenting visual media. Choosing the right method depends on your lecture style, your need for speaker notes, and whether your slides contain media.
Summary of Methods
- Files: Best for a distraction-free, controlled slide experience where you need embedded videos to play, but you do not require speaker notes.
- Presentations: Best when you need to use on-screen annotations and see your personal speaker notes, but do not need to play embedded media.
- Share Screen: Best for when you prefer to use the native applications you are already familiar with (such as standalone PowerPoint or Google Slides) to run your presentation.

Interactive Tools to Engage Your Audience
- Request a Response (Emojis): Gather instant pulse checks or non-verbal feedback during your lecture by asking students to react using the integrated Emoji panel.
- Launch a Poll: Keep your class interactive by deploying a quick poll. You can use pre-made questions or spin one up on the fly to gauge comprehension or spark debate.
- Conduct Tests and Assessments: Push out a formative assessment or knowledge check mid-class. Students will be able to complete the test directly within the Class interface while remaining connected to the live session.
Managing Communication & Chat
Answering questions efficiently is key to maintaining control of a large virtual lecture.
• Monitor the Chat: Keep an eye on the dedicated chat pane to answer student questions in real-time or designate a co-instructor/TA to moderate queries.
• Student Guidance: To help your students navigate communication rules, you can share this onboarding resource with them: Student Guide to Chatting in Class for Teams.
