  1. When you click on the gear icon, you can select the options that should apply to this Collaborate session:

  2. Have Participant as the default participant role.

  3. Always allow recording downloads – or recording cannot be shared with students.

  4. Because of the POPI act, you always need to anonymise the chat so that the recording will not display the student names. The chat will only be anonymised for the recording, not during the session.

  5. By selecting to show only the picture of the moderators, data-usage is less.

  6. To have an orderly presentation session with a large class only allow the participants to post chats.
    With smaller groups setting may be changed or participants given Presenter roles to allow for presentations.

  7. Leave off. Students are encouraged to use the Everyone chat so that other students can see the answer to the question. This prevents the same question being asked a number of times. If you allow private chats for participants, ensure that you select the option to also supervise all private chats.

  8. When you have more than 250 attendees that will join the session, select the option to allow more than 250 attendees.

  9. Choose this option to keep your chats clean.
