How do I set up a "Current Grade" calculation that accurately reflects student progress?
When you have the following scenarios, it is best to create a placeholder gradable item to include in your Current Grade calculation:

I use QuestUP tests. The marks get pushed to the Gradebook but it takes some time. Therefore when I create the Current Grade those gradable items (test columns) does not yet exist.

For year-long modules, set up the Current Grade calculation at the beginning of the year based on the complete assessment plan, even if some assessments or externally integrated columns, such as QuestUP, do not yet appear in the Gradebook.
When the assessment column is later created or synchronised with the Gradebook, remember to:- Edit the assessment’s Gradebook settings.
- Assign it to the correct Grade Category used in the Current Grade calculation.
If the assessment remains in the default or incorrect category, its mark may not be included correctly in the Current Grade.
