The Current Grade is a calculated item that you build to show students a weighted summary of the items that you grade and post in their Grades area.
The Current Grade is used in various analytic reports to show you how your students are doing. It enables you to identify the students that might be at risk of failing.
Students will only see their own marks and will not have anything to measure their progress against unless you set up the Current Grade.
Examples of what the students will see:
When they click on Grades on the Ultra Base Navigation, they will see a summary of the grades for all the modules they are enrolled in.
- The pie icon takes them to the Course Activity and Grades report.
- The mark displaying here is the Current Grade.
When they click on the pie icon (1), they will see the following screen:
3. Displays the chart view.
4. Displays the list view of the students' grades and activities compared to the average of the class.
Therefore it is vitally important for you to setup the Current Grade.
When you render the Course Activity Report (same as what the students see but with a summary of all your students data) and the Current Grade has not been setup, you will end up with no data in the report.
