Run a Rubric Evaluation Report for graded activities

The Rubric Evaluation Report gives you an aggregated view of how students performed against each criterion in a rubric for a graded activity. You can use the report to identify patterns across your whole class and use that insight to adjust your teaching or course design.

Take the following steps from the Gradebook, Grades tab:

  1. Click on Gradebook.
  2. Click on Grades.
  3. Click on the assessment icon where you used the rubric to evaluate the assessments
  4. Click on Download rubric report

Troubleshooting

If you cannot see the Download rubric report option on the assessment menu, then it could be:

  • There is no rubric associated with that assessment. OR
  • The grades were not posted.

If there is not enough data for the report, it will render an empty report.

Control AI Conversation duration with time limits

Instructors can now manage the duration of AI Conversations by setting a time limit. They can choose between two time-limit options, depending on whether they want to time the whole assessment or only the conversation itself.

Time limits provide additional structure for open-ended interactions, helping students understand when to complete their work and preventing conversations from running longer than intended.

Conversation-level time limit
Timing limits in AI Conversations support student accessibility by providing flexibility in how an activity is structured.

  • Customisable Duration: Instructors can control whether the timer applies to the entire activity or specifically to the AI conversation, allowing for a more tailored experience depending on the student's requirements.
  • Preserving Reflection Time: The ability to time only the conversation portion ensures that students who may need more time to process information or reflect on their responses can do so without being rushed by a global assessment timer.
  • Structured Interactions: Setting clear time limits helps frame the engagement, providing a predictable structure that can benefit students who require more defined parameters for their tasks.
Take note of the down arrow

You need to click on the down arrow to set the message limit.

Access the AI conversation, then:

  1. Click on the down arrow below the set the scene box.
  2. Add the time limit.
  3. Click on Save.

Add descriptions to your Discussions or Journals

Discussions and Journals now include a dedicated Description field, bringing them in line with other course content items such as folders, learning modules, and Documents. The Description field creates a more consistent, scannable Course Content page and gives instructors a clearer way to communicate context before students engage with an activity.

For example, when you compare the two examples in the image below, the first example provides context, while the second example uses the instructions to participate in the discussion.

Previously created engagements

Previously created Discussions or Journals display the first 750 characters of the Instructional text as the description. Remember to update the description to provide better context about the engagement.
